Throughout our history as a campaigning organisation Threshold has secured many key victories, transforming the landscape for renters in Ireland. Here are just a few of them:
Indefinite Tenancies 2021
The removal of s.34(b) from the act was a longstanding campaign priority for Threshold. We argued that the section had no place in a modern rental system and served no purpose.

In July 2022 Threshold campaigned for the HAP rate for single people to be increased to that of couples. Single people reliant on HAP were at a significant disadvantage when looking for a home to rent.

Threshold repeatedly called for deposits to be limited to one months rent. In August 2021 legislation was introduced to address this longstanding issue.

In 2022, Threshold’s long-standing campaign for an increase in notice periods was introduced. Giving people faced with eviction more time to find alternative accommodation.
