- Threshold announces appointment of three new board members
- Charity thanks outgoing Chair Liam Reid for over a decade of service
25 August 2025: Threshold, the national housing charity, has announced the appointment of Oliver Holt as its new Chairperson. Mr Holt is the National Director of Financial Reporting Services at Deloitte, having worked at the company since 2007.
He is a key member of Threshold’s Board of Directors, serving as Treasurer prior to his recent appointment.
Oliver Holt succeeds Liam Reid, who held the position as Chair for over three years, in addition to a decade of service as a Director on the Board.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Holt said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Chair at this hugely important national charity. Housing and housing rights are one of the top issues in Ireland right now and Threshold play a unique role in both advising and representing renters in the private sector. I look forward to working closely with CEO John-Mark McCafferty and the senior management team.
“I would like to acknowledge the strong guidance and dedication of Liam Reid as the former Chairperson. He helped the organisation evolve and further its reach and profile, and his significant tenure as a director prior to that, is also commendable. He leaves a strong legacy behind.”
During Mr. Reid’s chairpersonship, Threshold opened a new office in Limerick and re-opened a fully refurbished office in Galway city. He also led and embedded the organisation’s strategic plan, and oversaw the review of Threshold’s services, aimed at developing a more resilient, client-focused organisation.

New board members
In addition to Mr Holt’s new role, Threshold welcomes the appointment of three recent members to its Board of Directors:
- Patrick Sweeney is a strategy consultant, recently having worked for the Community Foundation for Ireland.
- Pat Hayes has taken over as Treasurer. He is a Senior Finance and Business Leader, recently serving as a Chief Financial Officer.
- Pat Mannion, who will participate in the Governance Committee. He is Chief Information Officer at Canada Life Europe.
