Reimagining Ireland's Future - housing, wealth & inequality

General News

Threshold, Ireland’s national housing charity, is organising a Policy Conference that will take place in the Woodquay Venue in Dublin on Friday the 26th of October, as part of our 40th Anniversary year. (from 9.30am – 4pm)

The conference aims to examine what renting, home ownership and opportunity will look like in decades to come and how these concepts will interplay. Our intention is to take a step back from the intricacies of the Irish housing crisis and to ask some searching questions about how we will live in the future. The conference will also examine questions of inequality, opportunity and tenure with insights from international trends.

Among the many speakers are

  • Prof. Richard Ronald, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. University of Amsterdam
  • Prof. Mark Stephens, Director of The Urban Institute
  • Dawn Foster, broadcaster, columnist for The Guardian and author of ‘Where will we live?’
  • Sven Bergenstråhle, President, International Union of Tenants
